Hopefully there is quite a bit of leeway for strong stances on decent health care and education, fighting racism, and defending democracy and the right to vote. How can it be right to characterize Democrats advancing these majority-held goals as “far to the left ”? Democrats can brace for a slaughter if they move far left. The only thing that matters right now is getting Donald Trump out of the White House, and the Democrats’ sole focus needs to be winning over his supporters.
